Justin & I came across this little gem for sale in 2007 while on a surf trip to Neah Bay. At the time it was called Hilden’s Motel and was run by Ron Hilden. His parents Francis and Lillian built the motel in the 1950’s. The original house was from a logging camp and Francis moved it from Neah Bay to the Bullman Beach property where the family would live while building the motel. For years it was run primarily as a fisherman’s destination. Lillian was a creative woman who ran a craft/pottery shop out of the garage and painted scenes inspired by this breathtaking location. As they aged they were forced to move from Neah Bay for better medical care and their son Ron took over running the motel. After Ron’s parents passed he tried his best to keep it going but grew tired as he was also aging. He then decided to sell to someone who would keep it open as his parents wished. We had a decade of hotel management experience from managing Beach Haven Resort on Orcas Island. For years we had been searching for an investment and decided to make an offer on May 2, 2007. Ron accepted our offer and allowed us to start working on the property before it closed in July. We decided to rename the business after the gorgeous beach where it is located and the rest is history. Every year we continue to make improvements so that it becomes the most comfortable and unique accommodation on the Olympic Peninsula.
