About the Residency:
The Bullman Beach Inn Creative Residency program works to inspire and open the doors for the completion of creative endeavors in the visual, musical and written arts. This year we are offering seasonal discounted weekly rates (Nov 1, 2019 – Mar 31, 2020) to artists working on specific projects. By offering discounted rates on accommodations at Bullman Beach Inn we aim to provide the artist with time and space for progress and reflection.
For $300-400 (+tax) per week, creatives in residence will have one of our one-bedroom apartment Strait-side rooms to themselves. No additional guests are included in the residency program. Each room contains a full kitchen. Food is not included in the residency program. Please note that our WiFi connect is not 100% reliable. Utilize this time to unplug and be free of distractions. Please also note a chance of power outage(s) during off-season.

Selected participants will also have the opportunity to extend their stay after their week-long residency at $20 off the regular Nov-April nightly rates. At this time participants can include friends/family in their reservation (all rooms sleep 3 people max. including children).
What we ask from you:
In return all we ask is that participants of the Bullman Beach Inn Creative Residency program contribute an image of a piece that was completed during their time here. The image will be reproduced as a postcard that will be sold at the inn in order to continue to offer this program in the future. For example, the image could be of a watercolor painted while here; an image of a clay sculpture; an image of poetic text, lyrics or a paragraph from your time here. Or perhaps a snippet of music for our website slideshow.
How to apply:
To apply, please submit 5 images, or 3 writing/music samples, of works you have completed. These do not have to be directly in relation to the project you’d like to work on while here, but should be in the same realm and reflect your artistic style. Please also submit a paragraph describing yourself and your work (“About the Artist/Writer/Musician”), as well as a paragraph describing the project you intend to work on while here.
Applicants should select 3 different weeks between November 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020 (Excluding November 26-Dec1, Dec 22-Jan 2). Please rank your choices of dates based on priority. Please rank room choice based on preference. If you only have one week-long period available, do not hesitate to list only that.
Prices/arrangements are as follows:
Room 1 (Balcony Partial View): $300+tax for 6 nights
Room 2 (Balcony Full View): $400+tax for 6 nights
Room 4 (Ocean Level Partial View): $300+tax for 6 nights
Room 5 (Waterfront Full View): Not included in the BBI Artist Residency Selection
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are awarded based on quality and availability. We will accept up to 5 participants per Nov-April season. Upon agreement to participate, and agreement to policies at the inn, a Visa/Mastercard must be placed on file to hold your reservation.
